Anne Arundel County Police Report #: 2014-748464
On Thursday, December 11, 2014 at approximately 5:36 PM, Linda Lea Suski (pictured above), an elderly female, 67 yoa, (needed a walker for support) was attempting to cross Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie (Maryland 648) from the bus stop on the west side near Phyllis Drive. After crossing the southbound lanes, Ms. Suski was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. As a result of the impact Ms. Suski was thrown into the center of the road coming to rest on the double yellow line. The impact was great enough to scatter pieces of her walker over a 100 foot area.
Attempts to revive Ms. Suski were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained multiple extensive injuries.
As a result of the impact with Ms. Suski the entire left/driver’s side mirror broke free from the striking vehicle. That recovered mirror was positively identified as belonging to Ford Explorer or a Mercury Mountaineer manufactured from 1994 through 2000. Additional evidence recovered at the scene suggests the fleeing vehicle may be a 1996 model year.
Based on multiple witnesses and video obtained at the scene, the fleeing vehicle would have been a 4-door model Explorer or Mountaineer, and is white or a similarly light color.
Witnesses to the collision stated after striking Ms. Suski the striking vehicle first slowed to a near stop in the middle of the road before driving over portions of the broken walker before speeding away while continuing north on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.
Anyone who has information as to the identity of the fleeing vehicle and its driver is urged to contact Metro Crime Stoppers or the Anne Arundel County Police at: 410-222-8610
