On September 16, 2016 at approximately 3:18 a.m., Northwest District Patrol officers responded to the 3600 block of Fairview Avenue for a report of a shooting.
Upon officers arrival to the location, they located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of the head. The victim, 32 year old Crystal Edmonds, was transported to an area hospital where she later died.
The victim in this incident is transgender. Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area to contact detectives.
